No phone number or email is required to register. Okitel still processes the account, device, and communication information needed to provide its service.
About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Okitel handles information when you use the Okitel application, related communication services, and this website at okitelecom.com. References to “Okitel,” “we,” or “us” mean the operator of the Okitel service.
Our privacy contact is info@okitelecom.com. You can contact us with questions about this policy or to make a privacy request.
Registration without a phone number
You do not need to provide a phone number, email address, or real name to register. Your account receives a randomly generated 10-digit Okitel ID.
Your Okitel ID is an account identifier that other people can use to find and contact you. It is not a promise of complete anonymity. Account identifiers, device information, and connection information may still be personal data under applicable law.
You decide whether to add optional profile information, such as a display name, photo, cover image, or biography. Information you put in your profile or share in a conversation may be visible to other users according to the feature and your settings.
Information used by the service
Account and security information
Okitel processes your Okitel ID, authentication records, account status, device registrations, session information, public encryption material, and preferences needed to maintain your account and authorize your devices. Your password is used for authentication; do not share it with other users or with support.
Messages, media, and communication information
The service handles encrypted messages and supported media, as well as conversation membership, sender and recipient identifiers, message identifiers, delivery states, timestamps, and synchronization information. Images, video, documents, voice messages, and other files that you choose to send are processed to provide the corresponding feature.
Calls, notifications, and technical information
Voice and video features process microphone or camera input during use, along with information needed to establish and maintain a call. Notification services use device registration tokens and routing information. Technical information can include IP addresses, device and operating-system details, app version, connection events, and error information needed for service operation and security.
Support and safety reports
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, including your correspondence address and the content of your request. Contacting support by email does not make an email address a registration requirement. However, your support correspondence can be linked to your Okitel account if you identify the account in that correspondence.
Encryption and its limits
Okitel’s supported private message content and media are encrypted on the sending device and decrypted on an authorized receiving device. Servers route encrypted content and may store encrypted messages or media for delivery and other service functions.
Message encryption does not hide every piece of operational information. Account, device, conversation, delivery, connection, and push-routing data are still needed to operate the service. Do not interpret encrypted messaging as a claim that nothing is stored on servers, that every feature uses the same encryption model, or that calls and third-party features have the same protections as private messages.
Local message storage, media caches, and security material are used on your devices. Temporary decrypted files may exist while you view, play, share, or save content. Device security and notification-preview settings also affect who can see your information.
Hidden Chats and Decoy Mode are on-device privacy features. They do not guarantee protection against a compromised device, a recipient retaining a copy, or observation by a network operator.
Optional permissions and features
Camera and microphone
Used when you choose functions such as taking a photo or video, recording a voice message, or making a voice or video call.
Photos, videos, and files
Used to select, send, preview, or save the content you choose. Access depends on your operating system and the permissions or file selections you authorize.
Contacts
Contact access is used for contact functions you choose, such as finding, importing, or sharing contacts. A lookup may send the identifiers needed to check for Okitel accounts. Sharing a contact sends the contact information you select to the chosen recipient. Contact access is not permission to use your address book for advertising.
Location
When you choose a location-sharing feature, location information is used for that feature and shared with the recipients you select. An active live-location session may continue updating while the app is in the background for the selected sharing period. Stop sharing in the app or revoke location permission to stop further access. Stopping a session does not remove information recipients already received.
Notifications and connected audio devices
Notifications let you know about activity. Audio-device permissions may support calls through compatible headsets. You can manage these permissions through your device settings.
You can deny or revoke optional permissions. The related function may then be unavailable. Permissions do not authorize unrelated collection or use.
Why information is processed
Information is processed to create and secure accounts; authenticate devices; deliver and synchronize conversations; support calls and notifications; operate features you request; respond to support and safety reports; prevent abuse and unauthorized access; investigate technical issues; and meet applicable legal obligations.
Okitel is not an advertising platform. We do not sell your personal information or use your private conversations for advertising.
Service providers and other recipients
Okitel uses infrastructure and technical providers to operate the service. A provider may receive information needed for its function, including network and device information, routing identifiers, or content that the function requires.
Google Firebase
Firebase services support app infrastructure and push notifications. This can involve installation or device registration identifiers, push tokens, and technical delivery information. The exact data depends on the Firebase components enabled in the app.
ZEGO / ZEGOCLOUD
Calling services support real-time voice and video. During a call, the provider may process call-room or participant identifiers, network and device information, and the audio or video streams needed to provide the call.
Hosting, maps, and support services
Hosting providers process server traffic and stored service data. A map provider used by a location feature may receive map requests and associated technical information. Email and support providers process messages you choose to send to us.
Optional AI functionality
Where an AI feature is offered, its feature-specific notice must identify the provider and information involved before you choose to send content. Sharing content with an AI service is different from sending an encrypted person-to-person message. Do not submit sensitive content without reviewing that feature’s disclosure.
People you communicate with and legal disclosures
Recipients receive the information you choose to share and may retain or redistribute it. We may disclose information we hold when legally required or where permitted and necessary to address fraud, abuse, or serious safety concerns. We do not represent that we can disclose plaintext content that our systems do not possess.
Retention and deletion
Retention depends on the category of information, the feature in use, and whether information remains necessary for service delivery, security, or a legal obligation. Information should not be retained simply because an account has been closed.
Account and profile information
Kept while needed to provide the account and its settings. A verified account-deletion request covers the account and associated user data, subject to specifically justified retention.
Encrypted messages, media, and synchronization data
May be retained for delivery, available history, media access, and synchronization functions. Deleting a local copy is not necessarily the same as deleting a server-held copy or a recipient’s copy.
Security, operational, and support records
Retained only as needed for their stated purpose, including resolving a request, investigating abuse, protecting the service, or meeting a legal obligation.
Backups and legally required records
If backup copies or particular records must remain after an account-deletion request, we will explain the affected categories, the reason, and the applicable retention period when responding. A legitimate retention exception does not mean the entire account remains active.
Use the account-deletion page to start a request. An uninstalled app, a cleared cache, and a deleted account are different things. We cannot erase copies that another user has independently saved or information outside our control.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can limit the optional information you provide, manage device permissions, review available notification and privacy settings, and contact us about your data. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, restrict, or object to certain processing of your information, or withdraw consent.
Send a request to info@okitelecom.com. We may need to verify control of the account before taking action. An Okitel ID by itself is not proof of ownership. Do not send your password, PIN, recovery secret, access token, or private encryption keys.
Requests are handled according to applicable law. Where a right does not apply or a lawful exception prevents an action, we will explain the reason. You may also have the right to raise a concern with your relevant data-protection authority.
This website and external links
This website does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, third-party fonts, account registration, or tracking cookies. Its pages and visual assets are served directly by the website host.
The hosting service may process ordinary request information such as IP address, requested page, time, browser information, and security events. Clicking a Google Play link takes you to Google’s service. Clicking an email link opens your email application; no email is sent unless you send it.
External services operate under their own terms and privacy notices. This website does not automatically log you into your Okitel account or perform account deletion.
Processing locations and safeguards
Service providers and communication participants may be in countries different from yours. Cross-border processing is subject to applicable data-protection requirements. Contact our privacy address for information about the locations and safeguards relevant to your request.
We use security measures appropriate to the information and feature involved, including encrypted communication and access controls. No service can promise absolute security or complete anonymity.
Children and safety
Okitel prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation. Eligibility to use the service is subject to applicable age requirements and the app’s eligibility rules. If you believe a child is at risk or that the service is being used for child exploitation, follow our Child Safety Standards and report the concern.
Do not send illegal images or videos to our support inbox. Provide a non-explicit description and the information needed to locate the concern.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Okitel’s features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Where required, material changes will be accompanied by additional notice or consent.
