Message privately

Your privacy is our priority. With end-to-end encryption, you can be sure that your personal messages stay between you and who you send them to.

Whether it's your confessions, your difficult debates, or your silly inside jokes, your conversations need to be protected.

End-to-end encryption

Messages and calls stay between you. No one else can read or listen to them, not even Okitel.

Additional layers of privacy

Beyond end-to-end encryption, we add additional layers of protection to all of your conversations.

Control the privacy you need

You get to choose what you share, how you show up online, or who can talk to you.

Block and report

Do away with unwanted chats. If someone you don’t want to chat with is messaging you, simply block them and Okitel will make sure you no longer receive their messages or call.

Privacy and security is in our DNA, which is why we built end-to-end encryption into our app. When end-to-end encrypted, your messages, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, status updates and calls are secured from falling into the wrong hands.

Personal messaging
Okitel end-to-end encryption is used when you chat with another person using Okitel . End-to-end encryption ensures only you and the person you’re communicating with can read or listen to what is sent, and nobody in between, not even Okitel. This is because with end-to-end encryption, your messages are secured with a lock, and only the recipient and you have the special key needed to unlock and read them. All of this happens automatically: no need to turn on any special settings to secure your messages.

What’s the “Verify Security Code” screen in the contact info screen?
End-to-end encrypted chats between you and one other person have their own security code used to verify that the calls and the messages you send to that chat are end-to-end encrypted.

Note: The verification process is optional for end-to-end encrypted chats, and only used to confirm that the messages and calls you send are end-to-end encrypted.
